Just read the notice of Dale's passing.  I went through Meridian Elementry & West High w/him.  Our mothers were friends & worked in our school functions together.  He will be missed by friends & Family.  God Bless..

Like you Sherrie, I also went through elementary as well as Jr High & High School with Dale. He was my ride to school our junior and senior years. Dale had an ornery streak. At least once a week he would attach a small firecracker to the inside of the passenger door. I never knew what was going to happen when I would go to open the door. Of course it could happen either going to school or going home. Sadly we only had classes together at Meridian. I remember those years with great fondness.
Do you remember going to Dale's house for Brownies and his mother helped us make toothpick holders? We walked from Meridian to his house to work on our project's. Weren't they made as a gift for Mother's Day?  My mom hung on to the one I made ( a baby bird) for many years. I can practically name all the moms that helped with all the school functions. Your mom, my mom, Mrs. Finley, Mrs Macy, Mrs Peters, Mrs Palmer and Mrs Sills  to name a few.
Rest In Peace Dale.

I first met Dale in my math class at Mayberry Junior High. One  thing that I remember about Dale was how fast he could get around school. He would speed walk through the hallways. Our relationship continued at West High where we became best friends. Dale went for a semester or so to Kansas State but decided that it was not for him. When I got married in February of 1968: Dale was my best man. Dale joined the Air Force and was stationed several places including Alaska, the Dakota and in Oklahoma. When he first joined he was stationed in Blysville Arkansas. My wife and I and newborn son visited him there. Later we connected with Dale and his family in Oklahoma where he was stationed. When he retired from the Air Force he moved to Fort Worth, Texas. In a visit there Dale showed us Six Flags and the Mesquite rodeo. According to Dale's wife he was tested for the covid 19 which came back positive and within a couple of weeks he passed on. I will miss my friend. Dale knew the Lord so I will see him again.
