Sheehey, Gerald A. "Jerry," 47, retired Boeing Wichita and Tweeco Co. liason methods engineer, died Thursday, Feb. 23, 1995. Service 11 a.m. Friday, Garnett City Cemetery, Garnett, memorial service noon, First Christian Church. Survivors: sons, Jason, Darren, both of Fairplay, Colo.; sisters, Alberta Taylor of Bluffdale, Texas, Iris Harper of Pleasonton, Calif. Broadway Mortuary.
I knew Jerry from Harry Street Elementary to West High. I remember our third grade teacher was a neighbor of his family. She knew that his mother was a single mom, very unusual in those days. Most afternoons Jerry would fall asleep in class and since she knew how much he helped his mother, she made the rest of the class be quiet and let him sleep. He was a good person and I am sure that he is missed still today...
