Charles Alan Sawyer, 75, of Haysville, died Tuesday (November 28, 2023) at Ascension Via Christi Medical Center-St. Francis Campus in Wichita, Kansas.

He was born on February 1, 1948 in Wichita, the son of William French and Bonnie Marie Davis Sawyer. 

Shortly after graduating from Wichita West High School, Charlie went to work at Rusty Eck Ford in Wichita. He later moved to Emporia and work at John North Ford before moving to Burlington, El Dorado and then back to Wichita where he worked at various Auto Part Stores. 

Charlie was a car enthusiast and enjoyed taking his Mustang to many car shows with his friends from the Mustang Club. 

Survivors include his daughter Andrea Brooks and husband Troy of Haysville; brothers Tom Sawyer of Wichita and Marvin Sawyer of Orangeburg, S.C.; three grandchildren Rebecca Decker, Dylan Dominick, and Roselynn Sanchez; and two great grandchildren.

Charlie is preceded in death this father; mother Bonnie Abbot; step-father Kenneth Abbot; brothers Larry, Mike, and Ted Sawyer; and granddaughter Candace Dominick.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday (December 16, 2023) at the Mt. Vernon Methodist Church in Wichita.
