Steve was a friend to all who knew him and will be missed by all.  Steve was best man when I married David McDaniel in 1966.  Steve was never one to judge anyone for what ever reason.  Rest in peace my friend and I know God is with your family.

This is just a devastating loss. Steve as been a mainstay and anchor to our class since I can remember. He would help anyone, and did such kind things for people. He helped plan every reunion...and we will sure feel the vacancy of him being gone when we gather again. This is so very sad. Loved him dearly

It is always sad to lose a friend and classmate.  Steve had a magnetic personality that drew people to him and was always so enthusiastic and energized about our reunons.  He greeted everyone with a smile and warm greeting.  He'll be missed.....blessings to his family.

Steve was part of the glue that held our class together these past 55 years. He was a true friend and a blessing to so many. My heart grieves this loss to the Roe family and to the class of '66. He will be greatly missed.

Steve and I were good friends in Junior High and High School. We enjoyed being on one of the best ever football teams at West High together. In the last five years we had become even closer and enjoyed weekly phone calls. I will miss his calls asking me, "You doing alright Big Guy?"  Always thinking of others. He will be missed.

I first met Steve in 7th grade at Hadley. Through the years, our friendship has grown. Since I live in Texas, I didn't have the opportunity to see him often, but we had frequent conversations. How I will miss the sharing and the laughter of those calls. He was so special and I am proud to say he was my friend. Friends should be people we love, people we want to emulate, people who care about us and don't judge. Steve was all of those things. He helped me be a better person. Prayers to his precious Linda, his children, grandchildren and his friends who grieve his loss. PraisevGod. His pain is gone.

Steve was a good guy. I recall riding the bus to West. He was up front. Somebody had a radio on. Steve called out "Turn that radio down--unless it's the Beatles, then turn it up." The Beatles had just hit.
