Richardson- Karl K. II age 21 of Number 2 Rolling Hills Drive in Wichita, Kansas, passed away April 23. Funeral services will be held in Resthaven Mortuary Chapel 11800 West Highway 54 at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Reverend Tom Rawlings of Westwood Presbyterian Church will officiate. Internment will follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. A memorial has been established in his name with the Westwood Presbyterian Church at 8007 Maple. Parking for friends adjacent to the mortuary. Services by Resthaven Mortuary.

Charles Ash
Karl Kenneth Richardson was born on S. Edwards Street in Wichita in 1948. His family lived across the street from my Grandmother and Grandfather's house. We grew up together literally from the crib onwards. His dad Karl "Curly" and my dad were best buddies, too, and our families were together all the time, it seemed, when we were kids. His mom, Connie, died of breast cancer when we were young and Karl, Sr. raised the kids, Karl, Martin Dean, and Judith.
My friend, Karl, worked at a convenience store on S. Seneca after West High but died of Hodgkin's disease only a few years after high school (1969?). He was a quiet guy with the very best of charachter, always happy, always the greatest sort of friend. Growing up with him was the closest you could get to having a brother. I miss playing down by the creek with him, I miss walking to Peterson school with him in the first grade when it seemed like the farthest from home you had ever been, I miss climbing in barrels and rolling down the driveway with him, and I miss hunting and fishing with him. Boyhood friends like that only come once in a lifetime and I'm proud he was my alltime best buddy.
